Community Forums to Address Homelessness in Laconia

Over the past few years, there have been significant increases in the number of people experiencing homelessness in Laconia. There have been many different and siloed approaches to supporting the needs of individuals experiencing homelessness while balancing the needs of the surrounding community. Coalitions have formed, programs created, and outreach efforts conducted but there has yet to be a community driven comprehensive plan.

Laconia Mayor Andrew Hosmer invited Partnership for Public Health, Inc., Navigating Recovery of the Lakes Region, and Laconia Police Department to develop community forums to seek the input and creative solutions to address homelessness from people who live and work in Laconia. The information received from the forums will be part of a strategic, community-wide plan for Laconia to address homelessness.

You are invited to participate in a community conversation hosted in each of the city’s voting wards throughout the fall months. Registration for events is required and space is limited so that creative discussion and problem solving can occur with participants.
